A few days ago, Amazon announced the updates to its Kindle Fire line of tablets. Â Here is the page with the details. Naturally, it has an improved screen, and processor. Â No surprises there. Â What’s more interesting is that they announced a major update to the Kindle Fire OS, to called Mojito. Â Some of the new features in Mojito include: Mayday button. Â This is the most innovative of the inventions and allows you to be conne...
I hope you enjoyed last week’s guest post from Azrael, but now it’s back to regular programming.  The books I have read in the last few weeks have all been worthy of full reviews, so expect to see them in the next few weeks.  This week I started listening to Steelheart of which I have heard the first few chapters a few weeks ago when Audible released them early, free of charge.  I do enjoy Sanderson’s writing so I&...

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor tells the story of Karou, a young woman with a double life. Â By day she is a student in modern day Prague, but at night she runs errands for her chimaera foster father, usually involving collecting teeth. Â It also tells of her love for an angel, Akiva, and of the war between angels and chimaera. Â What I liked Romeo and Juliet. Â Daughter of Smoke and Bone borrows a lot from Shakespeare̵...

I actually found this review quite difficult to write. Â It has been rescheduled time and time again. Â This is because, although I have read The Bone Season I’m still not entirely certain how I feel about it. Â It probably didn’t help that the hype machine was in ...

Hello, my name is Azrael. I am an archdemon and easily the most powerful character in a novel called “The Final Requiem.” You probably have not heard about the novel yet, and that is perfectly fine. The novel has not been published yet. The creator of my world, Joe Donahue, is looking to try to self publish the novel sometime in the next couple weeks. It is turning out to be a very exciting and stressful time for him. It is ...

Longbourn by Jo Baker is the retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice from the point of view of the Longbourn servants. Â I received a copy free to review via Netgalley. Â I should start by saying straight off that this retelling doesn’t have Austen’s sharp insight and witty dialogue, but that would be a lot to ask of any writer. Â That is not to say it’s not an enjoyable read nevertheless. Â What I liked M...
